Starting Off on a Dynamic Note
August 6th officially brought the Leadership Augusta Class of 2027 together for the first time, and what a way to begin! We're fortunate to be led by our Chair, Taylor Lamb of Augusta University, and our Co-Chair, Kaylee Snead of Augusta National Golf Club, who will be guiding us throughout this 10-month experience. And if day one is any indication, we're in for quite a year!
Our first afternoon was truly dynamic—hearing from Katie Wynn of Dynamik Consulting and diving into Insights Discovery, a personality profiling system that gave us a new perspective on how we communicate, connect, and lead. From Greens, who tend to lead with patience and collaboration, to Yellows, who bring energy, enthusiasm, and optimism; Reds, who are driven by action and results; and Blues, who value details, logic, and accuracy—we gained a better understanding of both ourselves and the people around us.
And let’s just say… there were plenty of “aha!” moments and more than a few “Okay, that makes SO much sense now!” realizations. It turns out, learning your personality color is one thing… realizing everyone else in the room now knows it, too, is another!
That evening, we continued the fun at our Meet the Class & Welcome Reception, where Mayor Garnett Johnson officially welcomed and introduced our Class of 2027. We also had the opportunity to meet Leadership Augusta alumni and hear firsthand what this experience has meant to them.
The Meet the Class portion gave us a chance to put faces to names, learn a little more about one another, and, of course, have a few laughs along the way. Let’s just say there were some good-natured roasts, plenty of personality, and a few moments that may come back up throughout the year!
It was a full day of learning, connecting, laughing, and getting to know the people we’ll be sharing this journey with—and I couldn’t think of a better way to kick off Class of 2027. A truly dynamic start to what promises to be an incredible year!
