Class of 2024 Leadership Afternoon, Meet the Class and Retreat

Class Updates,
Between Meet the Class on August 16th and a retreat in Columbus from August 25-26th, the Leadership Augusta Class of 2024 is off to a strong start getting to know each other, diving into valuable conversations, and exploring their roles and potential for greater impact within their communities.

With help from the University of Georgia’s J.W. Fanning Institute for Leadership Development, Meet the Class kicked off with an exercise simulating the varying opportunities and resources available in relation to financial means and general life circumstances. This fostered conversation around where these discrepancies are seen across the CSRA and what opportunities exist to merge these gaps.

This year’s retreat was held out of town, and Columbus proved to be a wonderful selection as both its history and recent developments mirror Augusta’s in many ways. It was evident the two cities have much to learn from each other. Class members heard from a variety of notable Columbus leaders and spent time exploring the town and riverfront area – all the while engaging with each other and continuing to build meaningful relationships among themselves. Their next class day will be held locally on September 14th.
