Alumni Spotlight: Katie Wynn
What was your favorite class day?
History Day! It’s been a while, but I remember learning so much that I didn’t know about our
great city.
How did LA impact your professional life, career trajectory, and community involvement?
LA has been the single most influential referral source in my business. I am beyond grateful for the relationships that I’ve made and the people that I’ve met because of LA. I’ve come back every year to facilitate a “get to know your class” segment during the retreat or Meet the Class day, and I look forward to getting to know a new class of emerging leaders every year.
Are you more involved in the community since graduation? How? Where?
Without a doubt. I’m on the Heritage Academy board, which I learned about during Education Day. I’m the incoming chair of the Child Enrichment board. Kari Viola-Brooke, the executive director, and I got to know each other during her class year, and she is now one of my favorite community leaders. Everyone should know about how effectively Child Enrichment serves our community. And this year, my husband Rob and I are thrilled to be part of the Leadership GA Class of 2025.
Favorite memory from your class year?
Oh gosh… maybe the games Alexia Davis led to help us get to know each other’s names.
What advice do you have for people interested in participating in LA?
Ask a classmate to go to coffee, get drinks, have lunch in between classes. Try to pick a new person each month. It’s a great way to learn someone’s story.
Why should others apply to be a part of LA?
You need to meet more people! Augusta needs our engagement! You don’t know what might inspire you during one of the class days. Apply today. I’m happy to help you with your application.
