AU Literacy Center Donation

Our Commitment

Leadership Augusta has pledged to raise $25,000 to help purchase books needed to stock the center, a place that will provide much-needed literacy and language development support to children, adolescents, and adults from the Augusta area. Research shows, that 33% of children who are not reading on grade-level by 3rd grade, will not graduate from high school. In Richmond County, 60% of 3rd graders aren't reading on grade level. WE WANT TO HELP improve this staggering statistic!

More about the HUB

The HUB for Community Innovation is a project designed to catalyze revitalization in the historic Harrisburg and Laney Walker neighborhoods, two of the most underserved communities in Augusta's urban core.

In addition to housing multiple nonprofits, the campus will make it easier for local residents to access needed support. And though the project has received funding through a combination of federal grants and private contributions, including a $10 million donation from the Augusta National Golf Club and three of its corporate partners, IBM, AT&T and Bank of America, the AU Literacy Center is expanding its services exponentially to reach more residents and needs additional support.

Support the HUB, the AU Literacy Center, and Be Sure to Pay Your Leadership Augusta Dues!
